"LeBron James almost missed our prom night": When Savannah James joked about the Lakers superstar's commitments at a YWCA event in 2017

Savannah James has proved over the years that she’s a befitting Queen for LeBron James. Her speech at the 2017 YWCA was a witty and great one.

Savannah and LeBron have a love story that can only be appropriately described as a fairytale. The more you look back at their time together over the years, the more you get the feeling that they really were made for each other.

James has won over millions of hearts with his dominant play on the court. But the reason why he’s so great is that this is a man who takes his role as a husband and as a father really seriously.

LeBron and Savannah James have now been together for over 20 years, or so it seems. Their natural chemistry on and off the screen is ageing like James’ own fine wine.

Savannah James threw in a nice LeBron James joke while revealing her donation drive for high school girls

Savannah was a guest of honor alongside chief guest LeBron James at a YWCA circle event in October 2017. Her speech on this day detailed the LeBron James Family Foundation’s drive to provide high school girls with prom night gear.

Her speech was illustrating, witty, appropriately written and well taken by the audience. She even threw in a LeBron joke while citing her own prom night experience:

“When I look back at my high school experience, some of my best memories are from Prom. It’s true, I had the tallest date in school. We almost thought he wasn’t gonna make it.”

“LeBron has almost always come through for me. I guess you could say he was a pretty good date. After all, we’re still going on dates 3 kids and more than 15 years later.”

“But the thought of some young women not being able to experience that magical night of Prom because they may not have the resources to buy the dress and the shoes, or do the hair and the makeup and everything that comes with it is a reality, and something I couldn’t accept.”

“Every young lady deserves to be a queen for a night. And I wanted to help make sure that as many high school girls feel that empowering feeling as possible.”
