“LeBron James chills in the backcourt the entire play as Lakers attempt to play basketball”: NBA Fans tear into GOAT candidate for subpar defensive effort in Game 6 vs Suns
LeBron James is catching tons of flak from Lakers and NBA fans alike for his subpar defensive effort in Game 6 vs the Suns today.
The Phoenix Suns lead the Lakers 71-52 with 8 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter at the time of writing. In this time, they’ve clearly demonstrated how good they’re on the defensive end. They managed to hold the Lakers to a paltry 14 points in the first quarter of the game.
They’ve also been running out freely on offense as they demonstrated with a 36-point first quarter. However, some of their offensive production can also be attributed to subpar Lakers defense. In particular, there’s a play from the second quarter that has Lakers fans riled up.
James seemed to chill in his own attacking half as the Lakers played a possession out 4v5. This clip is going viral on Reddit as the Lakers attempt to rally back from a 30-point deficit.
NBA Fans react to LeBron James chilling in the backcourt
As expected, NBA Twitter brought out the big guns against the Lakers’ superstar. It seems that he’s going to continue catching strays till he leads the Lakers to a series win.

The Lakers will definitely need to put their bodies on the line a lot more if they are to have any hope of winning Game 6 and keeping their NBA title defense alive. They’ll be the shortest-lived defending champions in league history if they fail to do so.
