"LeBron James could already be making Space Jam 3" : NBA Twitter can't believe it as reports reveal the Lakers superstar is working on another basketball movie

LeBron James is reportedly already planning to feature in yet another basketball-related movie and the NBA community can’t believe it

We will say it here and now. Space Jam: A New Legacy was a genuinely good kids’ movie.

Now, before we have to rest in the flames put on by the extreme section of Michael Jordan fans, there is some news on the Lakers superstar.

Back when he moved to LA, many in the NBA community criticized him, saying that the King had only moved there to make Space Jam. But, it seems even this part of the NBA community didn’t anticipate the news that we have for you.

Wondering what it is? Well then, without further ado, let’s get into it.

LeBron James is reportedly working on a Netflix movie based on basketball, alongside his time on the court with the Lakers

Yep, we have another. And no, it’s not Space Jam 3. In fact, this is reportedly going to be a completely different kind of project to playing against the Goon Squad.

Instead, this story is going to delve into the more realistic aspects of the game. We’ll let the source of this story herself explain further. Here is what Hollywood reporter, Mia Galuppo said on the matter.

“Rez Ball is described as Friday Night Lights meets Hoosiers. The story, according to the Lakers star’s project description, ‘follows the Chuska Warriors, a Native American high school basketball team from Chuska, New Mexico, that must band together after losing their star player if they want to keep their quest for a state championship alive. It’s an all-American underdog story about Navajo kids and coaches told from the inside-out.’”

Frankly, the idea of it sounds pretty interesting. Of course, since this isn’t as much of a kids’ movie, LeBron James will have to put on a slightly better performance in this one than Space Jam.

Regardless, we don’t think there will be any lack of viewership for this one. After all, the number of Lakers fans around the world rank in the millions, and that’s a conservative estimate. Add that to the fact that there are fans of LeBron James as an individual as well, and we imagine the movie will make quite a bit of money.

As of now, with the little news that has been revealed, the NBA community is already pretty excited. And frankly, we can’t help but feel the same way.
