Kyle Kuzma and LeBron James reportedly don’t get along and the former is looking to part ways with the ‘King’ and the Los Angeles Lakers.
The 27th pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Kuzma was selected by the LA Lakers. The 25-year old was a promising player and had a great rookie season averaging 16.1 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 1.8 APG on 45.0% shooting from the field.

Kuzma even made it to the NBA All-Rookie First team. It seemed as though a star had arrived at the Staples Center. During the 2018-19 off-season, the LA Lakers signed superstar LeBron James.
LeBron and Kuzma developed a great bond during the Cavs superstar’s first season with the Lakers. Kuzma was quoted saying the following about James,
“He cares about his teammates. He’s always hitting the group chat with things and even now, even when we’re not playing, you know, he’s a real person and you can talk to him anytime about situations.”
However, with the arrival of 8x NBA All-Star Anthony Davis, Kuzma’s role with the Lakers was somewhat reduced, with the 25-year old coming off the bench.
The soured relations between Kyle Kuzma and the LA Lakers
Kuzma had a disappointing 2020-21 season with the Lakers. The power forward was heavily criticized for not stepping up during the playoffs, especially since Davis was struggling with injuries.
The Lakers star averaged a disappointing 6.3 PPG, 3.8 RPG, and 1.2 APG in the 6 games he played during the 2021 playoffs.
Kuzma shot a dismal 29.2% from the field and 17.4% from the 3-point line. The Lakers star was a mediocre 66.7% from the free-throw line as well in the series against the Suns.
Since the Lakers’ early ouster from the playoffs, rumors of the LA team trading Kuzma have been doing the rounds. Recently Kuzma removed Lakers from his Instagram bio, leading to even further speculations.

There have been several reports of LeBron James being frustrated with the Lakers’ power forward circulating on social media. According to the talk show host, Colin Cowherd the two teammates don’t get along.
“LeBron doesn’t get along with him. They’d love to move him. He’s kind of expensive. It’s not the kind of contract you can’t move, but it’s not necessarily team-friendly considering he disappears often in big spots for the Lakers.”
There is no denying Kuzma is one of the most promising talents in the NBA. However, the Lakers might not be the ideal destination for the 25-year old to expand his horizon as a player.
