There have been rumors ever since LeBron James arrived in Los Angeles, of there possibly being another Space Jam movie. And now that the movie is set to release in just a few months, fans can’t wait.

The reason the movie is so popular already though is not just because of LeBron James. 1996’s Space Jam starring Michael Jordan was a timeless movie. Many of the league’s biggest stars today watched it as children, and recognize its incredible legacy.
Given its popularity, it almost seems obvious that current players would want a part in ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’. And LeBron James recently chose to speak out on just that.

Recently, LeBron James was interviewed by Entertainment Weekly. Speaking to them about the new movie, this is what he had to say.
“The phone would ring, the texts would come in, and then on social media a lot of people were tweeting at me saying, ‘Hey, I’m available for Space Jam if you need me. LOL. Asking for a friend.’”
He continued further.
“A lot of people my age or even younger just remember the classic. They remember Space Jam the original, and people want to be a part of it, because it’s something that lasts forever, something that’s timeless, and something that you can tell your kids and grandkids about.”

What LeBron James has said here certainly seems to be true. Given how well the last film did, ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy’ isn’t just a movie. It is as the title says, a new legacy, something the actors will likely be proud to be a part of several years down the line.
As things stand, the movie is set to release on July 14th, 2021.
