“LeBron James still has ‘another gear’ he can go to”: Anthony Davis talks about how the 2020 Finals’ MVP has been holding out against Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns
Lakers’ star Anthony Davis shares how LeBron James told him he can still switch up things and perform at an even higher level
The Los Angeles Lakers have finally shred off their rust. The defending champions beat the Pheonix Suns in two straight games after an abysmal performance in Game 1. The Lakers now hold a 2-1 lead on the series, after winning Game 3 109-95 tonight. Anthony Davis and LeBron James meant serious business, as they combined for more than half of the Lakers’ points. Anthony Davis led the charge with his 34 points and 11 rebounds. LeBron James recorded 21 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds.
The Phoenix Suns, on the other hand, could not find any flow to their offense tonight. Devin Booker was restricted to just 19 points. DeAndre Ayton was the bright light, scoring 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough.
Anthony Davis puts the league on alert with this statement about LeBron James
The Los Angeles Lakers have been dealing with injuries all season long, and the playoffs haven’t changed that. Anthony Davis seemed to injure his knee on a block early in the game, and then KCP had to leave the game with a quad contusion. Despite all of this, the Lakers seemed to have gained their stride back.
After the game today, Anthony Davis seemed to have put the rest of the league on notice. AD conveyed a message to the rest of the league on behalf of LeBron James. James claims that he can still notch it up another gear and elevate his game even higher.

If what Davis says is true, it is scary for the rest of the league. If LeBron James can achieve his true ‘playoff’ mode, the Lakers can count themselves as a shoo-in for the NBA Finals.
