"LeBron James, That's LeCap": NBA Twitter Roasts Billionaire Lakers Star For Lying About Not Paying For Twitter Blue Tick

LeBron James has been fated to be young, rich, famous and successful ever since he turned 15. Through 20 years of playing NBA basketball, James has accumulated over $1 billion.

Despite this, LeBron James has publicly stated that he doesn’t pay for music streaming services like Spotify or Apple Music. Instead, he prefers to listen to his music using YouTube, which is free.

Former teammate and best friend Dwyane Wade has publicly called out this stingy behavior by King James. D-Wade notes that LeBron only uses WiFi wherever he goes instead of mobile data.

While some amount of stinginess makes financial sense, there’s a dichotomy here. James is completely fine with spending millions on a fleet of luxury and sports cars for his family.

LeBron James claimed that he wouldn’t pay ‘$5’ for Twitter Blue

The Lakers superstar made a statement earlier this month to reinforce his ‘stingy’ image on Twitter. He stated outright that he wouldn’t be paying for Twitter Blue.

Elon Musk announced last month that Twitter users with the blue checkmark would have to cough up a subscription fee of $8. It later emerged that LeBron was one of 34 users whose tweets were artificially boosted by Twitter to increase engagement.

Moreover, a bunch of legacy blue tick users have lost their subscriptions after they refused to take the monthly $8 subscription. However, a recent glance at James’ Twitter handle shows that he still retains his blue tick, meaning that he did, after all, make the payment.

NBA Twitter roasts LeBron for his lies

This is nowhere near the first time that James has lied outright in public. He’s been pictured reading the first pages of multiple books without knowing their content.

He claimed he knew Kobe Bryant would drop 70 points against the Raptors on January 22nd, 2006. James also claimed he knew the Migos would blow up in 2010 – before they’d even formed their trio.

Understandably, NBA Twitter is abuzz with taunts for his statements.

It’s clear that the public is seeing through his PR-friendly statements now. Nevertheless, James shall still be laughing all the way to the bank despite paying the hefty $8 bill.
