“LeBron James was and is the ‘Chosen One for a damn reason!!”: Kendrick Perkins reminds NBA Twitter about the greatness of the younger iterations of the Lakers star
Kendrick Perkins reminds the NBA community just why LeBron James was such a big deal coming into the league
LeBron James isn’t exactly someone you refer to as a ‘young talent’ anymore. Sure, his athleticism and winning mentality can sometimes make people forget he is 36-years-old. But the fact of the matter is, the Lakers superstar is starting to reach the end of his playing career.
Of course, we love the current iteration of the King. After all, because of his age, he has to be far wiser as a player than he ever has had to be, which sometimes results in some seriously high IQ plays. However, a younger LeBron James was simply different.
The man could do it all. He could pass, he could shoot (sort of), and hoooo boy could he drive in and catch a body.
Many tend to forget sometimes just how incredible the player was back when his body allowed it. And it seems that Kendrick Perkins couldn’t bear to see it all forgotten any longer.
Let’s get into it.

“It’s a reason he was named the ‘Chosen One’”: Kendrick Perkins hails young LeBron James’s greatness
A lot of the active NBA fans in the community were unfortunately not old enough to see early LeBron’s greatness. The high-flying power dunks, the chase-down blocks. The utter intimidation and dominance. Simply put, you’d have had to see it for yourself to really know what we’re talking about.
Thankfully, such things known as ‘highlights’ exist. And recently, Big Perk shared an explosive reel of them on his Twitter. Take a look at the post below.

‘Chosen One’ indeed. Sheesh.
While we will probably never see another LeBron James ever again, we could get something close to him. With athletic beasts like Jalen Green, Jonathan Kuminga, and Anthony Edwards now in the league and willing to learn, who knows what the future holds?
