Recording 48 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists, Luka Doncic had a spectacular performance leading his team to defeat powerhouse Argentina 118-100 in their maiden Olympic Games match.
Year after year Luka Doncic has been proving to everyone that he is amongst the best players in the world. The 22-year-old Dallas Mavericks prodigy is truly a sensational talent, with several records already in his name. In his three years in the NBA, Doncic has already put up an incredible resume – 2 All-Star selections, 2 All-NBA selections, Rookie of the Year, and will surely be one of the future faces of the world’s best basketball league.
Even though Luka’s Mavericks team got knocked out in the first round of the playoffs, he has been simply terrific playing for his national team. After leading Slovenia to their first-ever Olympic Games appearance in the basketball event, Doncic had an absolutely sensational debut Olympic match.
Playing against the FIBA World Cup Runner Ups – Argentina, as the opening matchup of their 2021 Tokyo campaign, everyone expected Luka to have a great night for himself. However, no fan could quite expect the type of performance Doncic quite had. Putting up a historic 48 points to go along with 11 rebounds and 5 assists, the inexperienced Slovenian National team managed to destroy a Luis Scola-led Argentina team 118-100.

Surely, this win would be a huge morale booster for this inexperienced Slovenian team going into their remaining games. Behind Luka Doncic, this team surely has a shot at winning a medal. But as of now, Luka and his team will have to focus on their upcoming game against Japan. It won’t be a huge surprise if Luka somehow manages to top or level this legendary performance in the coming few games.
