Marcus Morris slaps Luka Doncic on the head

Marcus Morris, who has been the primary defender on Luka Doncic this series, was ejected for flagrant 2 foul on Mavs superstar.

Marcus Morris and Luka Doncic have been going at each other in the first round. It hasn’t been all ball either, with some afters both verbally and physically. Morris was accused by many of trying to injure Doncic in Game 5 by intentionally stepping on his ankle on an inbound pass.

Morris had also been verbally involved with Luka all series long. During Harrell’s spat with Doncic in Game 3, Morris was the closest Clipper around.

In a cantankerous set of incidents late in the first quarter of Game 6, Doncic began driving on Marcus Morris from the right wing. He found the inside step on Morris and was about to finish when Morris slapped at him. Without waiting for the inevitable foul call, Morris then slapped Doncic across the head with his right arm as well.

Doncic was sent flying to the court and he would’ve had an altercation with Morris for sure had he not been kept away by the 7’3″ Boban Marjanovic. The referees intervened quickly and sent the case for video review. On the basis of the history of spats between the duo, there were little doubts that Morris would be ejected for his dangerous actions.

Justice prevailed after the video review was completed as Doncic got the common foul call in addition to the ejection called on Morris. Doncic sank 4 straight free throws awarded to him to make the score 29-27 in favour of the Mavericks.
