“Michael Jordan and LeBron James are on Mt. Rushmore”: Zion Williamson names Vince Carter and Dominique Wilkins alongside GOATs as his top 4 dunkers of all time
Zion Williamson lists Michael Jordan, Dominique Wilkins, LeBron James and Vince Carter as the four players on his Mt. Rushmore for dunkers.
Zion Williamson is one of the most exciting players to watch in the league. Despite having so much added pressure of being the “next LeBron James”, the former number 1 pick has responded to all criticism perfectly. The way he has been playing, Williamson is set to become one of the faces of the league in the future.
Williamson absolutely bullies grown men in the paint. He leaves all his fans, and even his opponents, in awe with all his unreal dunks. The athleticism Zion plays with, despite weighing 280 pounds, is absolutely commendable.
Today, his millions of young fans look up to him as their dunking inspiration. Zion revealed his list of the top 4 players on his Mt. Rushmore of dunkers. He added some of the all-time legends on his list. In an interview with analyst Shannon Sharpe, the Pelicans forward revealed:
“I’m gonna go mixing it between dunk contest and in-game, a combination of both. Mike [Jordan], gotta have Mike up there. I’ll put Dominique [Wilkins] up there as well. Got to put Bron [James] up there, just respect, a lot of in-game posters, crazy athletic. And my fourth one, Vince [Carter].”

Zion Williamson reveals what makes a great dunker
The names Zion listed could possibly be on the lists of many analysts, fellow and former NBA stars too. Modestly, the All-Star didn’t add his name to the list. He further spoke about the art of dunking and revealed what made one a great dunker.
“What makes a great dunker, I think being able to do it when nobody is there. You’re playing 5-on-5 in an NBA game, and you’re able to go dunk.”
“People will say, ‘Oh it looks easy’, but it’s actually not, it’s not easy doing that. I think for those players to do it in-game and when they’re just by themselves. That adds to a lot how I judge you.”
As expected, this season too has had many memorable dunks. Unsurprisingly, a few of Williamson’s breathtaking dunks too, feature on that impressive highlight reel.
