"Kelly Oubre Jr. played last year with a broken wrist, not really impressed with the hate coming out of the Bay": Oubre Sr. takes a shot at the Warriors fans and Steve Kerr for the hate meted out to his son

Kelly Oubre seems to be finding it very easy to adapt to the Warriors’ culture. He made light of Steve Kerr in a press conference this week.

Across the league, there is a feeling that the Warriors are one of the very best organizations around. From top to bottom, they seem extremely well-managed, and empower their players to deliver their best.

The process of winning 3 championships and making 5 straight Finals wasn’t just about accumulating talent. It was also about building team chemistry and camaraderie off the court. Coach Steve Kerr has played a huge part in it.

As a newcomer, Oubre Jr will certainly be feeling the need to gel into the new environment well and quickly. The presence of an 8-time NBA champion certainly helps to that end.

What Kelly Oubre says about his interactions with Steve Kerr

“I feel like we can all be very transparent with each other and also just joke around a little bit. Coach Kerr can say something very smart, but at the end of the day he probably heard that from Michael Jordan because Michael Jordan is the biggest s–t talker ever.”

“You have to respect it. It’s just great. Great individuals around here.”

Kerr owns up to Michael’s influence on his life and professional career too:

“For me, [playing with Jordan] completely changed the rest of my life… To that point, I had bounced around. I was just an average player. I was able to play on these championship teams, made a name for myself, was able to get into TV, into broadcasting, into management and coaching. And the reason people hired me for these jobs later on is because I had played next to Michael Jordan and I had been part of championship teams.”
