“Minnesota Timberwolves ‘Badly’ Want Ben Simmons”: NBA Trade Rumors Connect 76ers Star To The Young T-Wolves
NBA Insiders reveal that the Minnesota Timberwolves are desperate to acquire Ben Simmons from the 76ers this off-season
No prizes will be given out for guessing why Ben Simmons’s stock is possibly at its lowest ever right now.
The Philadelphia 76ers believed in the talent of Ben Simmons ever since they drafted him. To be fair to Simmons, he did show signs of greatness in his first few seasons in the league. But, when a player refuses to improve as much as the Australian has, you have to start doubting his abilities just a tad bit.
Still, the franchise held on to their belief in the 24-year-old…well, at least up until the end of their most recent postseason.
Ben Simmons was abysmal. There aren’t many technicalities or any complicated terms to throw out there for this situation. Instead, he was simply far too afraid of the moment and a liability during his time on the court.
This has resulted in several trade rumors being generated about the player for this off-season. And among the many franchises interested, it seems the Timberwolves may just be the hungriest.
The Timberwolves reportedly want Ben Simmons “badly” according to NBA insiders
The Minnesota Timberwolves are perhaps one of the most offensively gifted young teams in the NBA right now. On the other end though, saying they need defense, probably qualifies for something more than just an understatement.
As the team is set up now, they wouldn’t be able to defend a parked car if they wanted to (shout-out to Bradley Beal).
With that in mind, an All-NBA level defender in Ben Simmons would be something akin to Jesus Christ to this franchise. And well, according to Insider reports, the Timberwolves may be looking at this situation the same way. Take a look at the tweet below.

“Badly” is right.
But, given that Ben Simmons is still under contract, Minnesota will likely have to give something up in return. Would it be some of the franchise’s bench players and some draft picks?
Would they be willing to ship out future franchise cornerstone Anthony Edwards along with other draft assets? Or could there be a different deal completely on the table?
We suggest you keep your eye on this one.
