“More Special Than 5th Title”: LeBron James and Bronny James Teaming Up Will Be the Coolest Event in Sports History Claims NBA Analyst

LeBron James caused a stir in the NBA community after he hinted retirement following the Los Angeles Lakers’ postseason loss. Suffering an embarrassing sweep against the Denver Nuggets, King James left the internet in a frenzy. Several users made different assumptions regarding James’ future. However, a majority of fans believed that the four-time Most Valuable Player wouldn’t be hanging up his boots before sharing the locker room with his son, Bronny James. Analyst Nick Wright also believes the same. On a recent episode of First Things First, Wright claimed that LeBron and Bronny teaming up would be the coolest thing to have ever occurred in sports history.

Basketball analysts and enthusiasts from around the world have given their take on the LeBron James retirement saga. Dwayne Wade also spoke about the potential of his best friend calling it quits. The Miami Heat legend, during a conversation with Shannon Sharpe on the Club Shay Shay podcast, revealed that Bron’s mental strength is just as impressive as his physicality. Dismissing the idea of retiring, D-Wade even predicted that the future Hall-Of-Famer could go on to average 20+ points for the next few years to come.

As per Wade, LeBron could be still dominating the league when his eldest son gets drafted into the NBA.

LeBron James and Bronny could achieve the ‘coolest thing in sports history’

On First Things First, Nick Wright spoke to the panel about a potential LeBron James-Bronny James link-up in the future. Wright claimed that at age 40 or 41, having already achieved almost all the accolades the NBA has to offer, LBJ should be allowed to go on a “free roll” and team up with his son, “If he then wants to have a bit of a free roll on what he does with his 22nd season at age 40 or his 23rd season at age 41, you know, I think it’s okay.”

Further, the FS1 analyst stated that becoming the first-ever father-son duo to play in the NBA simultaneously would be more special for the four-time NBA Champion than winning a fifth ring as the third-best player on the Championship squad. To put it in Wright’s own words from First Things First:

“There would be something more special about this accomplishment and this moment than if he were at age 41 the 3rd best player on a Champion for ring number five. If he’d never won a title, it’s a lot other things. I’m fine with it, if that’s what happens and I think it would be one of the coolest things in sports history.”

Bron has often spoken about playing with Bronny in the NBA. The 19-time All-Star is one of the most durable athletes ever, there’s no doubt about that. The King teaming up with Bronny is no longer a dream, but very much a possibility.

Bronny James is set to play for the USC Trojans

After considering different schools across the country, Bronny has decided to commit to the University of Southern California. One of the top-ranked Guards of his Class, Bronny will share the court with some of the most-talked-about prospects in the country, like Arrinten Page, Brandon Gardner, and the best player in the 2023 class – Isaiah Collier. A squad filled with some exciting talent, the Trojans will certainly be the team to keep an eye on during the NCAA tournament.

According to the mock draft by ESPN, James is projected to get drafted by the Atlanta Hawks with the 17th pick. It’ll be interesting to see if the 18-year-old is able to live up to the sky-high expectations levied on him. Let’s hope that the teenager has a phenomenal season and witnesses a rise in his draft stock.
