"MVP Stephen Curry!": Sixers fans chant Warriors legend's name aloud after he drops 49 points against Joel Embiid and co

Warriors’ superstar Stephen Curry receives MVP chants as he scored 49 points to seal a win for the Warriors on the road

Stephen Curry continued his slaughter, as tonight he rained hell over the Philadelphia 76ers. After a slow start to the game, Curry stabilized himself and had another 20 point half.

He finished the game with 49 points, going 10/17 from 3s. This was his 4th game in the last 5, where he made over 10 3 pointers. With this, Curry now leads the list of Games with 10+ 3s in NBA History. He has 6 such games in this season alone, whereas the closest anyone is to him, is Klay Thompson with 5 in his career.

Steph also broke a record tonight which was previously held by Kobe Bryant. Tonight marked Steph’s 11th straight game with 30 or more points, overtaking Kobe, who had 10 such games.

Stephen Curry gets MVP chants in Philly

For any player to get MVP chants, it is an honor. To get such chants on the road is a very rare thing and an even greater honor. Tonight the Philly crowd bestowed Curry with the same honor.

After scoring 47 points during the game, Curry was fouled with less than 30 seconds left in the game. While he was converting from the charity stripe, MVP chants could be heard from the crowd.

To get such chants in Joel Embiid’s home(Embiid is another frontrunner candidate for the MVP award) is a huge thing. With the form Curry has been, he should definitely be top in consideration for the MVP honors. Curry has been averaging a little above 40 for the month of April while shooting over 50% from 3s. He also overtook Bradley Beal for the season scoring title, as Curry now averages 31.4 points for the season.

Beal would get a chance to face Curry and fight for his title, as the Warriors head to Washington next.
