“My biggest goal in life is to play with LeBron James”: Andre Drummond outlined his desire to team up with Lakers MVP 10 years ago on Twitter

A 10-year-old tweet from Andre Drummond has resurfaced in which he claims his biggest goal in life is to play alongside LeBron James.

With the NBA’s trade deadline gone past, the Los Angeles Lakers eventually decided not to go through with trades to shake up their roster. A proposed trade that included Talen Horton Tucker for Kyle Lowry fell through when the Raptors came to the conclusion that they did not want to deal Lowry away mid-season.

With the Lakers having two of their superstars on the mend, they need to start to string together wins to keep themselves afloat atop the load Western Conference. With a roster that doesn’t run as deep to make this possible, their next best option is to look at buyout guys.

Luckily for them, former Cavalier Andre Drummond was bought out minutes before the 3pm ET deadline, making him a UFA. Drummond has been linked to the Lakers for well over a month now, along with teams such as the Nets and the Knicks.

Though the Lakers may have to get into a bidding war for the top-tier rebounder, they might have an edge in acquiring him due to his allegiance to LeBron James.

Andre Drummond has always wanted to play with LeBron James

In classic Twitter fashion, old tweets of Andre Drummond’s have resurfaced in the wake of his buyout with the Cavs. A particular one that drew the attention of all Laker fans was one that had Drummond lobbying for a LeBron James-Andre Drummond team up in the future.

Granted this tweet was sent out nearly 10 years ago, back when Drummond wasn’t even in the NBA and was a freshman at UConn. It makes sense as to why he tweeted this out, considering the fact that any basketball athlete would love to play alongside LeBron before making it to the NBA.

Fans claim that this is enough of a reason for Andre Drummond to hop onto a plane to LAX first thing tomorrow. Luckily for them, according to rumors, Drummond has been spotted in Los Angeles this past week.
