"Nikola Jokic and LeBron James Are Playing Chess, Not Checkers!": Denver Nuggets Coach's High Praise After the Joker's Massive Triple-double

Nikola Jokic has asserted himself as one of the best in the NBA, if not the best, in the last few years. The Denver Nuggets’ 2x reigning MVP is on his way to having yet another MVPish season leading his side through all the back and forth in the West. And so, his coach thought to again praise the 7-footer’s IQ and compare it to LeBron James’.

There is no doubt that the Serbian international is one of the most intelligent players in the league and without any question the best passing big man the league has ever seen.

However, whether he is already as good as the 4x NBA champ, will be a question that will keep up with him until he plays this game. For now, his coach, Mike Malone, thinks he alongside James is the only one playing Chess in the league while others play checkers.

Nikola Jokic is the only one having LeBron James’ IQ according to Mike Malone

Friday night was terrific for both the concerned Js, with Jokic posting up 28 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists, and 2 steaks while James showed up with 25 points, 7 rebounds, and 10 assists in victories for both their teams.

And after their 26th win of the season, Coach Malone took some time to talk about the similarities between Jokic and James yet again.

The Joker is aggressing towards a triple-double season and currently averaging 25.3 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 9.5 assists breaking which we can say he is affecting the game much more than James has been in the past 2–3 seasons.

Before the 2020-21 season, LBJ was still showing up crazily on defense, so that was making his game better than Jokic’s. If the Serbian big man puts a little more effort into defense, he will be the league’s undisputed MVP.

How are the Nuggets doing this season? Will they go any further in the Playoffs?

The Nuggets are currently the #1 team in the West and will probably have enough cushion at the end of the season to try out everything they are planning to show up within this year’s Playoffs.

And The Joker will have hopefully both Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. in this year’s postseason. Also having Kantevious Caldwell-Pope and Aaron Gordon in the line-up, teams are going to have a tough time beating this team in 7 games.
