'Nobody is picking us anyway': Jimmy Butler talks down hype for Heat, refuses to get drawn in comparisons to Nets stars

Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler gives yet another modest answer when asked about this season’s competition.

The 31-year-old was the key driving force behind the Miami Heat’s impressive bubble and playoff run. Even though they fell short in the Finals to the Lakers, the Heat garnered enough following and attention during their impressive play.

The Miami Heat had a pretty quiet offseason as compared to a lot of other teams. The Lakers, the Celtics, the Warriors and so many more added a lot of key players to their roster this free agency and trade season.

The lack of changes in the roster, and the Lakers making all the changes made the media not bring enough attention to the impressive Heat run.

“Nobody is picking us anyway”: Jimmy Butler

Jimmy Butler isn’t really bothered how the media isn’t paying enough attention to the Heat. He is one of the most down-to-earth players in the NBA.

The Heat entered the last season as the underdogs. Despite their fairytale run this year, they enter next season the same way once again. When asked about whether Butler has noticed the media not picking the Heat, Butler says a lot of guys ‘better’ than him – KD, Kyrie, Steph and KAT are coming back from injuries.

The Heat have been busy this offseason though. The Heat have been working on bettering themselves ever since the Finals ended, readying themselves to get back retooled and better prepared.

They took the loss to their heart and they would look to come back strong this season. The Heat kick off their preseason games with their matchup vs Pelicans on 14th.
