It would not be wrong to say that Michael Jordan had a larger-than-life personality. The Bulls superstar was the first NBA player to sign multimillion-dollar endorsements and make television appearances. MJ even starred as the lead in the cult classic Space Jam.
Thus one can definitely predict the fandom and paparazzi surrounding his Airness during the time. Jordan was on almost every hoarding in the major cities of the USA. Nonetheless, this never-before-seen popularity came with a heavy price tag as Jordan was not able to lead a private life anymore.
Media and his fans would continuously hound the superstar wherever he would go. MJ had people constantly tracking each move of his. However, the Bulls legend developed various techniques to trick his stalkers and go off the grid.
While appearing on the La Vida Baseball podcast, MJ’s former baseball teammate Ozzie Guillén narrated an incident about exchanging cars with the 14x NBA All-Star.

One day, Jordan asked to swap cars with his then-teammate Ozzie Guillén. Guillén agreed and then headed to a Columbia restaurant to grab a meal. As he would arrive at his destination, a bystander would remark,
“Oh come on! You’re not Michael Jordan!”
Ozzie would later clarify that he had forgotten to read the nameplate of the car, which had Jumpman 23 written on it. However, the ironic part was that though Jordan wanted to lay low in the public eye, he kept his nameplate Jumpman 23. Something synonymous with his persona.
Guillén was later seen narrating the disappointment MJ fans had after seeing him, especially since everyone would follow that car for miles.
