“Only About 25 in the World”: Luka Doncic Flexes His “Favorite” $600K Car
The NBA playoffs are underway, and after Saturday’s Game 1 home rout at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves, fans of the Los Angeles Lakers are anxious to think about anything other than basketball. To that end, they can check out the car collection of the only Laker that showed any signs of life in Game 1, Luka Doncic.
Luka is one of the best players in the NBA, but when he isn’t breaking ankles on the court, he’s accelerating and braking in one of his rare luxury automobiles, his favorite of which is the Brabus Rocket 1000. Based on the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S, this car is a true collector’s item, as only 25 of them were made. The Slovenian superstar owns one of them.
Luka has often spoken about his love for driving, which is probably why he likes the Brabus Rocket so much. This isn’t a car made just for looks or collector’s value, it’s meant to be on the road. It has 1,000 horsepower and can go from 0 to 62 in 2.6 seconds. Whoever named it knew what they were doing, apparently.
Since childhood, Luka’s two passions were basketball and cars. Along with the Brabus Rocket, he also owns, among others, a Lamborghini Urus, a Porsche 911, a Ferrari 812 Super fast, and a 1968 Chevy Camaro.

Luka has to be hoping that the rest of his Lakers teammates are able to put it in gear tonight for Game 2, as falling into an 0-2 hole with two home losses is historically nearly impossible to come back from. Game 1 was a disaster, as the Wolves outscored the Lakers by 29 from the second quarter on, and they finished the game with a franchise playoff record 21 made threes.
Luka Doncic needs to take the wheel if the Lakers hope to win this series
Luka put up 37 points in that Game 1 loss, but the issue was that none of his teammates were able to match his level. Minnesota’s defense did a great job of limiting the Lakers’ passing, and they actually held Luka to just one assist, a rarity for someone that averages 7.7 per game and hasn’t had less than five in almost six weeks.
Ever since he was shockingly traded from the Dallas Mavericks in early February, Luka has been his usual outstanding self for the Lakers. He initially had some rust as he worked his way back from a calf injury, but in the run-up to the playoffs he’s once again looked like a player that other teams fear. Now he just needs LeBron James, Austin Reaves and the rest of his new teammates to do their part.
For Luka, his car collection will always be there for him, especially after he inevitably signs an extension with the Lakers for nine figures this summer. Money can’t buy an NBA championship though, which he knows all too well after getting to the NBA Finals last year but getting ousted in five games by the Boston Celtics.
