Shaquille O’Neal is remembered as the most dominant force the NBA has ever seen. But, apart from basketball, Big Diesel has a host of other talents as well. One of them is his incredible musical ability and his love for rap. In fact, he seems to have passed down this love for music to his children. His son Myles O’Neal is a great DJ and if the latest video he shared on Instagram is anything to go by, his son Shareef O’Neal is quite the rapper himself.

The four-time NBA Champion has rapped with some legends of the industry. The Notorious B.I.G., Def Jef, Ice Cube, and Fat Joe are but a few. Shaq has even got his former Laker teammates involved from back in his playing days. So, with all that considered, it isn’t that surprising to see him link up with his son.
Shaquille O’Neal shares a video of a rap session he had with Shareef O’Neal from back in the day
Shaquille O’Neal’s love for all things rap is well known. Having released four albums back in the day, including one Platinum album. However, it has been a while since Shaq has recorded anything serious. But, if a recent video he shared is anything to go by, he may release something special very soon.
The Big Aristotle took to Instagram, where he released hidden footage from a rap session he had two years ago. He was freestyling to the beat of Three 6 Mafia’s That’s Right featuring Akon. And, unsurprisingly, he was killing it. Although, that wasn’t the main reason the video stood out.
Alongside Shaq rapping a verse or two himself was his son Shareef O’Neal. The two went in hard on the beat and seemed to enjoy spitting bars together.
“Me and @shareefoneal messing around two years ago. #havefun shout out to @fatjoe Rip Big pun remember y’all was at the crib in Orlando. that twins record was my go-to joint. me and my son been bumping that record ever since he was a baby. and shout out to #36mafia and @akon and charissemills.”

It’s nice to see father and son working together in the studio. And, it would be great to see Shaq back in the rapping game. Perhaps he and Shareef can work on an album of their own, maybe even get some other superstars involved. After all, given the big names he has worked with, getting a high-profile feature or two shouldn’t be too difficult for Diesel.
Shaq has worked with some of the biggest names in the rap industry including Jay-Z and Nas
If Shaq is going to start rapping again, it would be great to see him get some amazing features. The likes of Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Kanye West, and so on are not out of the realm of possibility for O’Neal. Especially considering some of the major stars he’s worked with in the past, including Jay-Z, Nas, and Biggie.
In fact, he had all three of them featured on a track titled No Love Lost. Unfortunately, he never deemed it fit to be released, much to the displeasure of fans around the world.
Regardless, it’s great to see that O’Neal still has some interest in getting back in the studio. And, whether it’s with his son or with a major artist, fans will be eagerly awaiting to see if he releases a song or two.
