Ever since the All-Star duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George were acquired by the Los Angeles Clippers, the team was instantly considered to be one of the strong title contenders. However, blowing away a 3-1 lead against Nikola Jokic and his Nuggets team caught the franchise by surprise.
Due to this, the team decided to make several key additions including Rajon Rondo, Serge Ibaka and Nicola Batum. This season, many analysts have LAC as their favourites to come out of the West.
Clinching the 4th seed in the Western Come, Los Angeles play Luka Doncic and his young Dallas Mavericks team as their first-round matchup.
Much to their surprise, the Slovenian prodigy has been playing on a different level altogether beating the Clippers in the first two games. After receiving a lot of criticism, on Friday night, the Los Angeles-based team finally played like themselves and got the better of Dallas. Trailing 30-11, LAC managed to win the much-needed Game 3 118-108, cutting Dallas’ lead to 2-1.

“All of Luka’s trash-talking finally detonated the Clippers”: Skip Bayless
Kawhi Leonard’s huge 36 points and 8 rebounds performance eclipsed Luka’s outstanding 44 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists near triple-double game.
It was also a vital performance by the veteran Clippers guard Rajon Rondo. Even though he finished the game with only 6 points and team-high 8 assists, he had the best +/- with +22. Skip Bayless even gave Rondo credits for pestering Luka on the defensive end. Bayless congratulated LAC for their much-needed win. He took to Twitter and commended “Playoff Rondo” and his Clippers:
“Finally, down 30-11 tonight, the Clippers got sick and tired and played angry the way the Mavericks have been. The Clippers finally fought back, fought fire with fire. And finally, Ty Lue let Rondo play the entire 4th quarter and close the deal. Thank you, Playoff Rondo.”

“I think all of Luka’s gloating and laughing and trash-talking finally detonated the Clippers. They finally took it personally. And 6-1 Rondo finally said, “Give me Luka.” Who is 6-7. Rondo bothered him. Playoff Rondo: guts and grit.”
With the series 2-1 in the favour of Dallas, the Clippers will hope to tie the series on Sunday before they fly back to LA. How the first three games how panned out, we are in for a serious action-packed thriller series.
