“Prince was a genius”: Michael Jordan Paid the Highest Tribute to ‘Purple Rain’ Singer and Icon of the 20th Century
The thing with genius is that when we see it, we are rarely able to comprehend it. Only when they perish, do you realize the true mettle of their genius. Prince was one such person. A musical mastermind with no compare, his loss was mourned by many, including Michael Jordan.
In the 1980s, one name was in the hearts of every man, woman, and child, Prince. The Purple Rain singer was the man of the decade. How can one forget his iconic jacket, and hairstyle that till today is far too modern?
Prince was an icon, through and through. The man who defined a genre. Hip-hop and R&B artists of today are still trying to match the fever high he put on during his reign.
His demise was met with a lot of love and even NBA legends like Michael Jordan poured in quite the praises. Seeing as though his start in NBA was earmarked by Prince’s rise to fame.
Prince was a genius, proclaimed Michael Jordan
Of course, His Airness would have jammed to Prince in his youth. His demise was sad, Jordan said, “Like so many people I am shocked at the news that Prince has died. In a world of creative performers, Prince was a genius. His impact not just on music, but on culture, truly can’t be measured. His songs inspired me throughout my career and remind me of so many moments from my life.”.
We particularly like the sentiment that MJ has attached to Prince’s songs. We are sure that his glory days have an iconic track associated with them.
There are very few geniuses like Prince and we fondly remember a legend like him. MJ’s own words echo our sentiments.

MJ and Prince, are geniuses of the same tangent
The thing with geniuses is that they seldom do things the right way. Jordan never played by the NBA’s rules. He bent them. He crushed his opposition and he refined his craft to a level that was simply untouchable.
Prince, himself carved out a niche. He defined a genre and was perhaps the pioneer of it. Today, R&B is a household term, Prince was the man who made it his own.
