Kevin Garnett is easily one of the most dominant power forwards in history. The former Celtics superstar, who led Boston to the 2008 NBA Championship, is now a fan of the game. Garnett often tweets about players and their performances following interesting matchups. Today, he directed his praise towards the Toronto Raptors’ talented youngster Scottie Barnes.

Barnes has been sensational in his first two seasons. Tonight, he continued that streak of dominance in the paint. Barnes contributed 14 points for the losing Toronto side on Tuesday night. His poor 40% shooting apart, Barnes was a beast at the board. He gathered 13 rebounds for his side of which 6 were offensive rebounds.
Garnett in his Tweet praised the 21-year-old for this impressive performance against his former team, the Boston Celtics.
Kevin Garnett acknowledges Scottie Barnes’ skills
At 6ft 11″, Kevin Garnett is bigger than your usual forward. In fact, Garnett was always much closer to a center in size and demeanor than a power forward. The additional aggression that complimented his size so much made KG so fearsome. Garnett was a force of nature and he was never afraid of anyone on the court.
In today’s game, there is no one quite like KG. But that seems to not deter the 4-time Rebounding Champs’ hopes of watching a gifted power forward. In his most recent tweet, KG has likely pointed at a man he has the most expectations for when it comes to playing the pure PF position.
In his tweet, Kevin Garnett pointed out how despite being a youngster who hasn’t won many accolades, Barnes still is quickly becoming the heart and soul of the franchise.
KG: “Scottie Barnes is a young OG! Not the elder statesman or the most accolades in Toronto, but he’s the heart and soul. OG and the next up. I know about that…”

Raptors fans were supportive of KG’s praise
Raptors fans were delighted with Garnett’s praise for their youngster. It seems that Scottie has already built a fanbase in Toronto. The same fans responded to Kevin Garnett by further praising the 2022 Rookie of the Year.
Been sayin this. Raps need to give him the ball in crunch time and take it from Fred. Fred is great player but he’s not the guy to finish the game, it’s Barnes!! He’s the franchise player even over Siakam, ceiling is unlimited. Plus he got that dog in him!!

When he started balling right out the gate my first comparison was young KG.
Lotta similarities, game recognize game I guess.

Will Scottie Barnes improve into a full-fledged star?
