Stephen A Smith says Scottie Pippen calling Phil Jackson racist is one of the most idiotic, if not the most idiotic, thing Pippen has ever said.
Scottie Pippen has been all over the tabloids for the past couple of weeks, and not for good reasons. He’s been out and about on several talk shows handing out claims that aren’t all too true, and serve as means to stir up drama and nothing more. In this tirade of his, he’s taken shots at Kevin Durant and compared him to LeBron James.

This resulted in a back-and-forth between him and KD online where the latter didn’t hold back and called him out for refusing to get into a Playoff game because a play was drawn up for Toni Kukoc and not him. When it comes to the Kukoc conversation, Scottie Pippen shockingly called Phil Jackson racist for picking the European forward over him.
This happened during a game in the Playoffs in 1994 where Jackson chose Pippen to be the inbounder on a last second play down the stretch and to get Toni the ball. This irked Pippen as he believed he was the best player on the team and that he should take the last shot. Fortunately for the Bulls and unfortunately for Pippen, Kukoc made the shot.
Stephen A Smith is aghast upon hearing Scottie Pippen called Phil Jackson racist.
Stephen A Smith and Scottie Pippen have encountered each other online this past week when talking about the lack of help LeBron James had in 2016. Pippen would eventually admit that he’s at fault as he claims to have gotten the years mixed up and was actually referring to 2015, when James lost both Love and Irving to injuries in the Finals.
Now, after hearing Pippen’s comments on Phil Jackson being racist for choosing to give Toni Kukoc the ball over the All-Defensive forward, Stephen A has something to say.
Accusing Phill Jackson of being racist is one of the most ridiculous things Scottie Pippen has ever said or done. pic.twitter.com/a5nNcuFUx7

This reaction from the ESPN analyst is absolutely warranted as what Scottie Pippen said makes no sense. So much so that Dan Patrick had to speculate on whether or not the Bulls legend was in the midst of a midlife crisis.
It’s quite nearly impossible to be racist as a coach within the NBA when you’ve won titles with players that are black. The best player Jackson had ever had was black: Michael Jordan. All in all, these outrageous claims are nothing but a means to promote his new memoir, Unguardable.
