Shaquille O’Neal revealed on NBAonTNT that he has plans to return to wrestling in the near future: “Soon, this summer”

Shaquille O’Neal claims that he’ll be returning to the wrestling ring soon enough as he revealed on NBAonTNT that he has plans in the works.

Shaquille O’Neal has become the embodiment of a man who’s fulfilled everything he’s needed to from a financial standpoint and is now living lavish while doing whatever he chooses to do. Everything from Buick commercials to his own line of Shaq-endorsed pregnancy tests; the Lakers legend seems to want to dip his toe in every facet of life.

Shaq has had an ongoing relationship with the wrestling world for many years now as he first made his appearance in the squared ring back in 2009 when he was teammates with LeBron James on the Cleveland Cavaliers. In this appearance however, he was merely a guest host and did not indulge in any sort of fighting.

It would be in 2016 when the ‘Big Aristotle’ would form any semblance of a rivalry with an established WWE star, with that being fellow giant, The Big Show. The two squared off in the 3rd Annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale where the rest of the wrestlers in the ring would all band together to push both the Big Show and Shaq off the tightropes.

Shaquille O’Neal teases his plans to return to wrestling this summer.

Shaq would return to the wrestling world nearly 5 years later as a part of the AEW roster and would go up against Cody Rhodes in a tag-team matchup that they would both heavily promote on social media. His appearance on the show would be quite successful as WWE Raw veteran, John Cena, would put his two cents into the bout as well.

“It’s a shame that you were born so large and so gifted on the basketball court because you could have been something in WWE. I still think you can be,” said Cena. Shaquille O’Neal seems to be taking this constructive criticism quite seriously as he recently revealed on NBAonTNT that he’d return to the wrestling in due time.

“Soon, this summer,” teased Shaq. It’ll be interesting to see whether or not Shaq will venture off into a solo ‘career’ in the wrestling world or will look to find another tag team partner like he did in his AEW debut.
