The drama between AEW and CM Punk seems to be a never-ending scenario. “The Straight Edge Superstar” has been under suspension since his post-All Out brawl with The Elite last year. However, that hasn’t kept him from making it into the headlines every now and then. According to a recent report, CM Punk wants to return to AEW and, in fact, is willing to share the ring with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks.
After last year’s post-All Out media outrage, the 2-time AEW champion ended up having a physical altercation with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. Everyone involved was handed an indefinite suspension, but the latter made their return after a couple of months. As to Punk, he is still an exile.
Moreover, the incident made CM Punk a foe for not only The Elite, but also for almost the entire AEW roster. Other than a few names, nobody in the company wants him back. However, the 2-time AEW world champion doesn’t share the same feeling.
CM Punk has reportedly pitched AEW several ideas, including working with The Elite
Fightful Select, in a recent report, claimed The Straight Edge Superstar desires to return to the ring. As a matter of fact, in recent months, he has expressed his intentions with AEW. Not just that, he has also pitched numerous plans for his comeback.
Surprisingly, CM Punk has shown a willingness to share the AEW ring with The Elite. Fightful noted among the scenarios he pitched to AEW, one was to work with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks. However, the trio is not okay with doing the same.
The report further asserted that CM Punk is okay with returning to AEW, even if he never has to work with The Elite. Though as of now, it’s tough to say whether or when fans can expect that to happen. Besides, he is also open to leaving AEW and working elsewhere, according to Fightful Select.
AEW’s Dax Harwood claims The Straight Edge Superstar misses wrestling and wants to come back
Unlike other AEW stars, FTR members have no animosity towards CM Punk and, in fact, share a good bond with him. Recently, speaking on his podcast, Dax Harwood claimed he is constantly in contact with the 2-time AEW champion.
According to him, Punk misses wrestling and wants to get back into the ring. The AEW tag team champion even booked a fantasy match between CM Punk FTR and The Elite.
