LeBron James is reaching the twilight of his glorious and one of the most significant NBA careers in the history of basketball.

However, playing in his 20th year, the almost 38-year-old Iron Man of the league has set such a high standard for the players on his side of 35, that most of them do not get their due credit for how much ever they can contribute.
But, every now and then he makes time to appreciate awesomeness when he sees it. Tuesday night was one such occasion, when his former Cavaliers teammate, Jeff Green, turned back the clock.

Jeff Green surprises LeBron James and Memphis Grizzlies with a massive dunk
After giving them a 126-108 defeat in LA last week and going on a win-loss zigzag himself, LeBron took to Twitter on his off day and had some words of appreciation for the 36-year-old forward who dunked the lights out in Denver like he is still in his 20s.

Veterans keeping up with their health and being able to perform at a high level must not be overlooked.
These heavily experienced players contributing 7-10 efficient points each night are much more valuable to a championship-contending team than a youngster taking way, more shots with no playoff experience under their belt.
And with the likes of Carmelo Anthony being without a team despite being an efficient swingman last year playing for a team like the LA Lakers, it’s high time veterans are treated right and the scale of James.
James going strong at 38 should not be a bar
He is an anomaly. As much as you might not like the King, you have to bow down to the level of patience and discipline he has shown coming in as a 17-year-old in the league and now playing in his 20th year in the league, barely missing half a season of action.
Surely he has a few more years left in him and by the time he retires he will set a bar for the superstars of the league, who will be contending with the likes of him, Kobe, and MJ for the GOAT status, to play at a certain level until they call it a day.
But that standard should certainly not bleed off to the tier-II, III and below players at any cost. That’s how veterans and role players if they don’t make as much money, will at least have the same respect they have been getting over the years.
