Andrew Wiggins is unequivocally playing the best he has ever played in the NBA. And it’s all because the Warriors have found the right role for him, where he plays at a championship level. And Golden State deserves all the credit in the world for making it happen.

However, there was once a time Andrew Wiggins wasn’t considered to be a good NBA player at all. No, many believed he was one of the worst busts in NBA history, after being selected first overall by the Timberwolves.
Stories abound about how bad he really was in Minnesota. However, there was one year when things looked very, very bright for the man in Minnesota. And it appears that having come to a similar point in his career, things couldn’t get more similar for these two players.
NBA Redditor finds an insane similarity between how good a 3rd year and Andrew Wiggins is to the current Anthony Edwards
In his third season in the NBA, 6’7” Andrew Wiggins was actually really, really good.
He would routinely take tough mid-rangers, and was somehow efficient on them, while also making a decent percentage of his threes. At the time it seemed like he was finally settling in.
But of course, that isn’t how it turned out. And yet, 6’6” Anthony Edwards, despite being far from having the same narrative, is putting up almost exactly the same numbers in his third year in the league as Andrew Wiggins did.

Could this be a sign of something?
Sure, Andrew Wiggins is one of those high-end roleplayers. But fans are hoping Anthony Edwards goes a lot higher than the man.
Will it really happen? Or will Wolves fans have to be disappointed yet again?
What are Andrew Wiggins’s averages right now?
Of course, while Wiggins disappointed during his time in Minnesota, he has been absolutely insane for the Warriors.
But are his averages better across the board? Or is he just a slightly more efficient player?
Well, here are his current stats to help you decide.
In 33 minutes per contest, Wiggins is averaging 18.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, while shooting 49.7% from the field, and 42.9% from beyond the arc.
Additionally, the man has a defensive rating of 113 this season.
It seems like he is simply more efficient, but with fewer points. But frankly, the Warriors’ early struggles may have brought his numbers down a bit across the board.
But if he truly is the amazing player many believe he is now, that should change very, very soon.
