The LA Lakers recently faced off against the Dallas Mavericks in a stellar matchup worthy of being nationally televised. During this game, Anthony Davis made his long-awaited return to the court from his Achilles injury.
However, the star was understandably on a minutes restriction and only played a little over 16 minutes during the game. The Lakers eventually lost, with the final score being 110-115.
Despite the loss though, there were many positives for the team from Los Angeles to take. Dennis Schroder was incredible throughout the game and had a stellar 25 points and 13 assists by the end.
What was most encouraging though, was seeing Davis back on the court. And after the game, fellow star Andre Drummond reflected on what it was like to play alongside him in the NBA.
Andre Drummond reveals how he felt while playing alongside returning Lakers star Anthony Davis
Andre Drummond had a relatively good game against the Dallas Mavericks. In 30 minutes of game time, the 27-year-old accumulated 14 points and 19 rebounds, playing an important part in the contest.
This match was the first time the Big Penguin played alongside Anthony Davis. So, as you would expect, he was asked to address his thoughts on the matter after the game. And looking fairly delighted for his fellow co-star, this is what he had to say.
Andre Drummond on being on the court with AD tonight: “That was a surreal moment for me – it felt like we were kids together playing USA Basketball again.” Adds that once the Lakers have everyone healthy “we’re going to be really scary…the sky’s the limit for us.”

The LA Lakers have done really well so far, considering LeBron James and AD have had to be sidelined. Hanging on to the 5th seed is no mean feat when you’re in an open Western Conference.
But now, with one of their biggest stars finally returning, the franchise is almost guaranteed to rise in the standings. And if that does happen, the team can build some positive momentum to carry into the postseason.
