Former LA Lakers point guard Patrick Beverley had his say on James Harden during a recent episode of the Pat Bev podcast. Harden, currently embroiled in a stand-off with the Philadelphia 76ers and its president of basketball operations Daryl Morey, has apparently been cooking during training. While he continues to push for a move away amidst a $17,600,000 standoff, Harden appears to be intent on landing a championship with the 76ers, which will be his first. The tweet was shared by Kyle Neubeck on Twitter.

Patrick Beverley suggested that Harden was in his best form during training. While that can be expected considering his desire to return to the top, Harden also seems to have undergone a shift in attitude. Beverley revealed that he has been leading, and giving advice to other players during the 76ers’ training camp as well.
Patrick Beverley reveals top-class attitude from James Harden during 76ers training
Beverley was in a conversation about Harden’s situation with former 76ers owner Michael Rubin. Rubin sold the franchise in October 2022 and claimed that Harden was like family to him.
He revealed that the controversy between him and the 76ers was not handled well and that the situation was breaking his heart. Beverley, in response, claimed that while the media might have had their say on the situation, Harden’s attitude has been top-notch in recent training:
“He was playing with us in practice. And boy, he was cooking. I am talking about, the pot was out and he was stirring that b***h up. His attitude has been great. He has been leading. He’s giving advice, You might hear all the bad shit on TV from reporters that’s not there but actually being a teammate that’s there, he’s been phenomenal.”
Michael Rubin says on the James Harden situation that, “It wouldn’t have happened” if he was still part-owner of the team. “This thing is breaking my heart”

Hence, while there is continued controversy surrounding Harden’s status at the 76ers, he seems to be heavily focused on the job. This comes just days after Stephen Smith revealed Harden wanted to return to the NBA as its scoring champion in the coming campaign.
While Beverley seemed impressed with Harden’s work ethic, Rubin claimed that no one in the NBA wanted to win a championship more than James Harden. He claimed that he tended to block out the noise that was made about him, and was confident Harden will soon return to his very best.
James Harden’s agent Troy Payne backs James Harden’s work ethic
It seems as if Beverley is not the only one who has noticed a newfound hunger in James Harden. While Rubin thinks nobody wants a ring more than Harden, his agent Troy Payne sang a similar tune.
Payne claimed that he would not be surprised if Harden ended up winning the MVP this season. Talking about his work ethic, he said that Harden was training for hours every day, and had increased focus on his discipline and diet.
Claiming that his discipline was crazy right now, Harden’s agent expects him to quickly return to his best. That is what his fans will be hoping as well, something Payne claimed was down to the kind of disrespect that had been suffered by him recently.
