"Take your time coming back from the Capitol, Ernie": Charles Barkley hilariously trolls Inside the NBA host for Covid-19 tracing absence

As always, Charles Barkley was in his element on Inside the NBA today. He trolled Ernie Johnson as one of the Capitol Hill rioters on the show.

Kevin Frazier has been filling in for Ernie in the show over the last couple of days. EJ has been AWOL due to a Covid tracing exercise, as he came in contact with someone who tested positive. The 64-year-old is due back in a few days, but the Inside crew hasn’t missed a beat in his absence.

Charles Barkley, Shaq and Kenny said all the right things about the Capitol Hill riots over the past few days. The show has also discussed the Jacob Blake shootings, and the difference between how black and white people are viewed in USA. There has been an outpouring of emotion on the show in the past couple of days.

But the fun parts have all been there too. This short snippet is just another example of Chuck being Chuck.

Charles Barkley jokes that Ernie Johnson was seen at Capitol Hill

The crew couldn’t help but crack jokes at Ernie and his color. Kevin Frazier was asking all of them about their New Year resolutions, but Chuck had to get in his digs at Ernie first. Shaq complied with this as well.

Chuck: “Well I hope he hurries back. He’ll be back.”

Shaq: “I miss you in your regular voice, Ernie!”

Chuck: “Take your time coming back from the Capitol, Ernie!”

Even as a partisan fan of Ernie, you’d have to admit that Kevin Frazier has done a neat job of filling in his shoes. It’s no easy matter being the least watchable guy on a basketball TV show with 3 legends of the game alongside. But with Ernie back, they can restore their true mojo once again. The quartet are a gem when seen together.
