Anthony Edwards almost took this series between the Denver Nuggets and the Minnesota Timberwolves to 6 games. However, unfortunately for the man, things just couldn’t break that way. And as you’d expect, it all culminated in a moment of sheer frustration for the Timberwolves superstar. And given that this game was being played in Denver, a very hostile environment, did not help one bit.

As an example of its almost unruly hostility, the 21-year-old is now essentially being scammed by someone who is trying to make a pretty penny off him. And frankly, the whole thing is beyond disgusting.
Anthony Edwards threw a chair
A game-winner is put up with a lot of hope put into it. So, of course, when Anthony Edwards missed his, it was a disappointing, And so, he wasn’t in the mood to face the world either. Instead, all he wanted to do was head to the locker room where he could safely vent out his frustration.
However, right before he was able to get all the way there, he did decide to swing and throw a chair. NBA Central shows this moment in action, in the clip in the tweet below.
Anthony Edwards could face legal action, per @DenverSportsCom
“A law enforcement source said Edwards picked up a chair & swung it, striking a security guard…A source confirmed the incident and said both employees were injured & asked to file charges.”

We’re not saying that the chair did not hit her. However, there clearly seemed to be no malice in Edwards’ heart against her. Further, the lady doesn’t even look harmed in the video, just a bit shocked. And yet, NBA Central has revealed in yet another tweet, that this is how the situation has developed.
According to @DenverSportsCom , Anthony Edwards has been cited for third-degree assault for allegedly striking two women with a folding chair
Per Colorado law third-degree assault carries the punishment of up to 18 months in Jail and/or a fine of up to $1,000 https://t.co/BvafaGVAhh pic.twitter.com/9RbAeihtLo

Third-degree assault is beyond wild. In other words, all that’s happening here is Anthony Edwards is being scammed out of his money, a verdict just about every fan seems to agree with.
How do the fans see this situation?
The NBA community can often be divided on a range of issues. Thankfully, this doesn’t seem to be one of them. To do their due diligence, one fan decided to give the woman at least somewhat of a chance, by making it clear that there could be more to this than the video. Still, even they couldn’t believe the absurdity of it.
Unless there is more than the video shows this is wild

“Unless there is more than the video shows, this is wild”
Another fan decided that the lady did not deserve the benefit of the doubt, considering this to be the incident in its totality, tweeting this out on the matter.
So they’re going for a quick check clearly…

“So they’re going for a quick check clearly…”
Frankly, with the whole situation as twisted as it is at the moment, it’s hard not to side with the Twitter user here.
They just don’t wanna see a young brotha win.

“They just don’t wanna see a young brotha win.”
As you can see in the tweet above, a different fan said that this could be a matter of racism. And admittedly, given the reputation of the predominantly white city of Denver, it is one that is very hard to deny. But will it make sure the woman unfairly wins too? Or will Anthony Edwards get out of this without a scratch? Only time will tell.
