“They Just Won a Superbowl”: Stephen Curry Stands Embarrassed As Draymond Green’s Attempt at Countering Patrick Mahomes’ 3–1 Trash Talk Fails

‘The Match’ hosted by Capital One in Las Vegas, which featured a matchup between NBA superstars Steph Curry and Klay Thompson and NFL superstars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, came to a conclusion just a while ago. The NFL duo Kelce and Mahomes clinched the title of the charity event after both sides had indulged in a lot of trash-talking over the past few days. The Splash bothers’ teammate, Draymond Green, was also present to support his brothers in the contest and help them out with the trash-talking. However, an exchange between him and the NFL duo back-fired and resulted in an embarrassed Steph Curry.

A day before ‘The Match’, Steph Curry was involved in some trash-talking himself. He posted an Instagram clip of the Kansas State Chiefs losing in the Super Bowl, while calling out the opponents on their readiness to face him. So, when the NFL stars brought up the Warriors’ 3-1 2016 NBA Finals loss on the golf course, Green’s response did not end well.

Draymond Green’s trash talking backfires

The charity exhibition golf match between the NFL and NBA stars had its moments and gave the fans quite a spectacle. With all the participants wearing microphones, fans could hear the hilarious exchanges between the players. Draymond Green, in an attempt to roast the NFL players, ended up embarrassing his Dubs teammates. Here is the conversation that took place on the greens:

“Draymond: Y’all talking about 3-1, like Joey Burrow didn’t send your a** home, a year ago!

They just won the Super Bowl.

Draymond: I don’t care. I didn’t think about that.”

Green did not realize that Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce had just won the Super Bowl this year, while trying to humiliate them for losing the premier competition. Maybe the video posted by Steph threw him off. Either way, Draymond had to eat his words. Even though the exchange ended awkwardly for the NBA player, it provided us with a good laugh.

Charles Barkley mocks Green’s free agency

Green had quite an entertaining day, as his constant trash-talking resulted in some intriguing content. His TNT colleague, Charles Barkley, took a shot at him as well. While Green was commenting on the game, Barkley hilariously trolled him for talking so much without a job. The comment, however, was taken in good spirits by the player as he was seen laughing uncontrollably.

Another hysterical moment featuring Draymond happened when Steph roasted him for not having golf etiquette. With Klay Thompson about to go for a putt, the Dubs defender’s shadow covered the hole. This led Steph to teach him some game etiquette as he hilariously cautioned him not to get a technical foul in golf.
