"Trae Young is a bad man": Hawks star's shimmy before drilling a 3 in game 1 of the ECF puts him on Stephen Curry's pedestal

Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young’s shimmy in Game One of the ECF against the Milwaukee Bucks had the social media buzzing all day.

The Hawks have been phenomenal so far in the 2021 NBA Playoffs. It is the franchise’s first conference final appearance in over 51-years. Hawks point guard Trae Young has been a major reason for the team’s success this year.

Young has been leading his team from the front, especially during Game one of the ECF, where he had a playoff-high 48-points that included 11 assists. Young shot 50% from the field that night.

The 3rd quarter of Game One saw the former NBA All-Star perform a shimmy before he drilled a 3-pointer on Bucks forward Bobby Portis.

Young’s shimmy was met, with many reactions on social media, with many comparing it to Stephen Curry’s, who Young has often been compared to in the past as well.

Though, this is not the first time an NBA player has emulated his peer or role model. We have seen this in the past as well, with the likes of Kobe Bryant and Carmelo Anthony.

NBA players and their shenanigans are not a new concept whether it be Trae Young, Stephen Curry, or Carmelo Anthony, these stars have never shied away from exhibiting their pride on the NBA hardwood.

Trae Young gets compared to the likes of Stephen Curry, Carmelo Anthony

Young’s shimmy was one of the biggest talking points of Game One of the ECF. The Social media was quick to draw his comparisons to 3x NBA champion Stephen Curry. This is not the first time that Young has been compared to the Warriors superstar.

Young’s game-play and his ability to shoot long-range 3’s have often seen him compared to 3x NBA champion Stephen Curry.

In the past as well we have seen the late Kobe Bryant emulate Micheal Jordan’s fist pump. Though it is no secret that Kobe had always modeled his game to that of Jordan. The Lakers superstar was the only player that came close to being the next Jordan.

MJ always looked at Kobe as his younger brother, who he dearly loved. The Bulls superstar has even admitted in the past that the only player that could beat him one on one would be Bryant.

There are a plethora of such examples that include Carmelo Anthony running with 3 fingers to his head after knocking down a 3 bearing resemblance to Sheed. We had also seen Chris Paul mock Stephen Curry with a shimmy during the 2018 WCF.
