Chris Paul pokes fun at himself for not having won any championships in his career following the Phoenix Suns grabbing the 2 seed.
It’s quite astonishing how the big 4 that played with the New Orleans Hornets in the late 2000s with Peja Stojakovic, Davis West, Tyson Chandler, and Chris Paul all won championships at some point in their career; except for the man who orchestrated it all, Chris Paul.

His journey through the Playoffs can be summed up with a combination of horribly timed injuries and having to face the Golden State Warriors in nearly every single postseason of his. The closest CP3 ever got to sniffing the NBA Finals was back in 2018 when his Rockets were up 3-2 on the Kevin Durant Warriors.
However, as highlighted before, the injury bug struck and stole a potential title from him that year. In all fairness, the Rockets going 0-27 from beyond the arc at one point in Game 7 of that WCF also contributed to a postseason flameout. His stint on the Thunder bore no fruit in terms of title aspirations as although they did overachieve, the point ‘god’ couldn’t get them past the first round.
Chris Paul jokes about not having won any championships.
The Chris Paul effect has taken over yet another young team this season as the Phoenix Suns reaped the benefits of having the 6’0 All-NBA guard on their roster. The Suns hold the second best record in the league at 50-22 and boast incredible team stats all across the board.
Perhaps the most impressive is their team’s clutch time stats as they rank second to only the Sixers in terms of win percentage in the clutch. This can only be attributed to Chris Paul making the right plays down the stretch and when need be, taking to his trusted right elbow for a 15 foot fadeaway.
In a recent interview on ESPN+, he was asked about what individual stats will he aim to target and break records for next. CP3’s response was aimed more towards winning chips, rather than breaking records as he said, “Shoot, I’m trying to break my record of not winning no championships.”

The sad reality of the situation is that the All-Star guard may never win a title in his career. The way the seedings are shaping up, the Lakers might face off against the Suns in merely the first round of the Playoffs. According to Bill Simmons, if LeBron James was a true friend pf Paul’s, he would intentionally lose the play in against the Warriors to slide down to the 8th seed and face the Jazz instead.
