The University of Southern California made headlines today. The Trojans men’s basketball team recently announced that Bronny James has committed to their program. Huge news, especially considering his father is none other than LeBron James. Hopes are high for Bronny and what he can bring to the team. But, who will be joining him at USC?

James was a four-star recruit coming out of college. His skills on the ball combined with his athletic genes made him a highly scouted prospect. With the likes of Oregon, Ohio State, Kentucky, Michigan, and Memphis putting offers on the table, it’s safe to say he had his pick of the litter.
However, he decided to stay in Los Angeles, committing to the USC Trojans. A great decision, and one that will help him prepare for the next level. This is especially true, considering the type of talent he will get to work with.
Bronny James joins the likes of five-star recruit Isaiah Collier in USC
Adding Bronny James to their roster has greatly improved the strength of the USC Trojans. The #5 point guard in his class, James brings a lot to the team. But, he will not be enough to get Trojans fans hopes up for the coming season.
While he is a gifted young player, USC knows that they cannot rely just on him to make an impact. That is why they beefed up their squad prior to confirming the young Bronny as a commit.
So, who exactly did the Trojans have to offer? Well, they already have a stacked group of guards, including Reese Dixon-Waters and Tre White. They have also signed four-star recruit, center Arrinten Page. But, perhaps the icing on the cake is their marquee signing, the #1 player in Bronny’s class, Isaiah Collier.

The prospect of Bronny pairing up with Collier to make a dangerous backcourt duo is mouthwatering. College basketball fans definitley have something to look forward to this season.
Bronny will most likely be a one-and-done player for USC
The signing of Bronny James is certainly exciting news. But, even the Trojans know that the young guard isn’t there for the long haul. The long-term plan for Bronny has always been to make it to the NBA, where he will hopefully grant his father’s wish of playing professional basketball with him.
So, in all likelihood, James’ time in USC will probably be a one-and-done situation, like most college players with NBA aspirations.

It will be interesting to see just what Bronny does in a year’s time. If he puts in a good shift with USC he could potentially end up being a lottery pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
