Wanting To Add Onto His 4 Championships, 35 Y/o Stephen Curry Confidently Claims The 2024 NBA Title Is For The Warriors
For the past decade, the Golden State Warriors have made winning a habit. Anything less than a championship feels like a wasted season. With four titles over the last eight years, Stephen Curry and his men have gained the utmost confidence in their abilities to compete for a ring every year. It also helps that their core has remained intact, and the front office has done a stellar job in putting pieces around the core. When Steph Curry was asked about the same in an interview with ESPN’s Mallika Andrews on NBA Today, he echoed the same sentiment.
The Golden State Warriors core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green have experienced everything the NBA has to offer. And they have done it together. Despite entering the final stretch of their careers, they arguably look as formidable as ever. To add to this, the franchise traded for Chris Paul in the off-season. By adding a veteran of his caliber, the team doesn’t see any reason why they shouldn’t be title contenders. After all, at 38 years old, what Paul lacks in youth, he makes up for in experience.
Steph Curry believes the Warriors can win the NBA title
A team will go as far as their leader is willing to take them. Steph Curry is the leader of the Golden State Warriors franchise, and he is gunning for another championship. The four-time champion has the ultimate confidence in the roster’s capability. In an interview for ESPN’s ‘NBA Today’, the host asked him whether the group has a couple more titles in them. Here is what Steph said:
“Absolutely. But we are going to start with one. It’s going to be this year. So, excited about the work that goes into. Like you said, we know how to do it, we know what it takes. It’s just got to be this team.”
Malika Andrews: “Do you feel like this [Warriors] group still has a couple more [NBA titles] in them?”
Steph Curry: “Absolutely, but we’re gonna start with 1. And it’s gonna be this year.” pic.twitter.com/CfAeunOV5r

Those words by Curry will feel like music for any Warrior fan wondering how much fuel the core has left in the tank. There is no doubt that the team is still very good. Steph is still in his prime. Klay may not be the same player anymore, but he can still shoot the rock better than most others in the NBA. Draymond has shown us he is up to any challenge thrown at him. And Chris Paul is just a winner.
That being said, the road is not going to be easy. The Western Conference is stacked with great teams and each of them feels like they have something to prove. Be it the defending champions Denver Nuggets, the LeBron-led Los Angeles Lakers, or the loaded Phoenix Suns. It feels like the West has never been this competitive. However, the Warriors have chemistry, which will serve as a crucial advantage over the rest of the league.
Curry’s confidence in his shot-making is ridiculous
Curry’s confidence in winning the championship stems from his irrational confidence in shooting the ball. The ease with which the man can put the ball in the basket is ridiculous. There has never been anyone like him in the history of the league. And he knows it. In an interview with JJ Reddick, the player was asked about his irrational confidence. Here is what he said:
“Kind of an evolution of the amount of reps that you put in, the deserved confidence of being able to go out there and take some chances, play with a little bit of creaivity, continue to surprise yourself and push the envelope and then really never lose that spirit, no mater how deep you get into your career. Because I always feel like I am still on that journey.”
The player has reiterated on multiple occasions that if he feels like it’s a good shot, he expects to make it. Irrespective of what others might think. He is confident enough to live with the results. This kind of attitude doesn’t come easy. It takes a lot of hard work to have that belief in oneself, and there isn’t anyone in the league who can claim they work harder than Steph Curry.
