The Phoenix Suns started off the Western Conference Finals with a bang. The Suns, after sweeping the Nuggets, had an entire week off, before the matchup yesterday. Meanwhile, the Clippers, who just beat the Jazz in a grueling 6 game series, only had some 36 hours between Game 6 and Game 1.
The fatigue clearly showed as the Clippers could not keep up with the Suns in the 4th quarter. The Suns ultimately won the contest 120-114. Devin Booker recorded a 40point triple-double. He finished the game with 40 points, 13 rebounds, and 11 assists. Deandre Ayton added 20 points and 9 rebounds. Along with these two, four other Suns players scored in double digits to keep the Suns over the line.
As for the Clippers, Paul George scored 34 points, and Reggie Jackson added 24. Other than that, the others failed to find a rhythm offensively.

Anyone who has watched the NBA for the past few years saw the emergence of Devin Booker. A lot of people know the relationship he shared with Kobe Bryant. Booker grew up idolizing Kobe. After making it to the league, he got his idol mentoring him, and that was a dream come true.
When Chris Paul made his way to Arizona, he took the entire Suns roster under his wing. That included Booker as well. Paul has been guiding and teaching them all season, and it has been working wonders. After the Game 1 win, Booker talked about the same.

The Game 1 win was surely a nice gesture towards Paul, who is making his recovery from Covid-19. For now, the young Suns team have held their ground without their leader.
