"What the Hell Have You Been Watching": Stephen A. Smith Calls Out JJ Reddick For Undermining the Nuggets to Favor Kevin Durant and Co.

The Denver Nuggets are currently facing stiff competition from the Phoenix Suns. With the series tied at 2-2, Game 5 will be integral to the Nuggets’ success. After all, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and the rest of the Suns are a force to be reckoned with. But, former NBA superstar JJ Redick believes there is nothing to worry about even if they lose. A take that left Stephen A. Smith shocked.

Things have not been looking good for Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets. After taking a 2-0 lead, many believed that the series was safely in their hands. However, thanks to some stellar basketball from Devin Booker who is averaging close to 37 points in the last nine games has raised some doubts.

That is why Game 5 is so important. With the series returning back to Denver and the Ball Arena, it is crucial that they secure the win. If they fail, they hand homecourt advantage to the Suns who will return to Phoenix leading the series 3-2. Making Redick’s claim on First Take ludicrous.

Stephen A. Smith shocked after JJ Redick claims Nuggets’ Game 5 against Kevin Durant and Co. isn’t important

ESPN’s First Take is perhaps one of the most reputable sports shows in the world. The debates and analyses of different sports are highly entertaining. But, there are times when a “take” is questionable.

Usually, fans would expect something like this from maybe Kendrick Perkins, or “Mad Dog” Chris Russo. Sometimes even Stephen A. Smith gives some brain-scratching opinions. But, the last person anyone expected to say something silly is JJ Redick.

On the most recent edition of First Take, the crew was discussing Game 5 of the Denver Nuggets-Phoenix Suns series. It was here that Redick claimed that he does not generally view Game 5’s as a “must-win”. Especially if the series is tied 2-2. This obviously left Stephen A. exasperated, who questioned whether Redick needed to use his glasses. After all, if the Nuggets lose this game they would head back to Phoenix, where Game 6 would most definitely be a “must-win”.

Stephen A: “JJ Redick…if you noticed, while you were talking, I threw up these glasses. I threw up these glasses because I was wondering…do you need them?! What the hell have you been watching ??? I mean are you kidding me…Denver can’t lose Game 5!”

For once, Stephen A. seems to be making more sense than JJ Redick. Game 5 is a “must-win” for the Denver Nuggets, lest they wish to place the advantage firmly in Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns’ hands.

Stopping Devin Booker will be the key to winning Game 5 for the Denver Nuggets

It’s pretty obvious that winning Game 5 will be the top priority for the Denver Nuggets. And, the key to securing victory comes down to one thing. Stopping Devin Booker. The Suns’ star is on fire, currently averaging 36.8 points and 7.4 assists on 61.4% shooting from the field and 51% from three.

The first player in NBA history to ever record such numbers over a nine-game stretch. Both in the regular and post-season.

He certainly is the man in form. And, if the Nuggets have any chance of pulling through this series, a strategy to deal with him will be necessary.
