“With LeBron James and Anthony Davis out, we gotta move the ball more”: Dennis Schroder reveals what the Lakers need to do to win games
Dennis Schroder thinks the Lakers need to move the ball better in order to hang with their opponents in their next few games.
As per analysts and the team staff, James will be missing almost a month of basketball. With both their All-Stars sidelined with injuries, it will be very difficult for the Lakers to register the success they envisioned during the start of the season.
The Suns beat the Lakers 111-94 this morning. Point guard Dennis Schroder gave his opinion on the team in the postgame presser. He revealed what he thought the team would have to do, in order to win games with their stars out of the lineup. Schroder stated:
“On the defensive end, we gotta be more scrappy. How we played before with them two (James and Davis) on the court, it’s totally opposite now.”
“I think we got to move the ball, we got to play with more pace… Everybody who is coming on the floor has got to be confident to knock down the shot or to impact the game on the defensive end.”
Dennis Schroder on what the Lakers need to do w/o LeBron and AD: “We’ve got to move the ball. We’ve got to play with more pace and on the defensive end we’ve got to be more scrappy.”

“We gotta take more pride”: Dennis Schroder wants his team to play with a lot more pride
With the two superstars injured, the Lakers supporting cast will have to rise and deliver for their team. No doubt it will be a tough job for them to consistently win games. According to Schroder, he wants his team to take more pride in their game. The German added:
“I think we all gotta take more pride now, starts with me individually, to be better. Especially when we’ve got a lot of people out, we gotta start to get in that mentality, everybody individually giving everything they have, and I think it starts tomorrow. Everybody just look at themselves, trying to get better and every day try to work and get the job done.”
Dennis Schroder: “Everybody in this locker room got to step up.” Also emphasized more than once that this team needs to “shoot more threes” moving forward.

Luckily for the Lakers, they can use this period to their advantage. Frank Vogel can figure out which player could be of great help alongside LBJ and AD late in the season and in the Playoffs. It’s definitely going to be a tough 2 months for the Lakers. But knowing the grit the team plays with, they won’t shy away from any challenge.
