The Dallas Mavericks have been middling for the entirety of this 2022-23 NBA season. With their most recent blowout win against the Portland Trailblazers, they have escaped .500 with a 15-14 record thanks to a 33 point and 9 assist effort from none other than Luka Doncic.

Their last 10 games have seen them grab 6 wins and it’s in this span that ancillary players like DFS and Tim Hardaway Jr have stepped up in a promising way. Christian Wood, who comes off the bench despite being the Mavs’ second best player, poured in a 32 point and 12 rebound double-double of his own tonight as well.
The highlight of last night’s game between Dallas and Portland was undoubtedly Luka’s monstrous poster over Drew Eubanks with the Mavs already up by well over 20 points. This sent social media into a frenzy as he’s never truly had all too much bounce in his game.
Christian Wood on Luka Doncic claiming to have the most bounce on the Mavericks
Luka Doncic plays with a lot of finesse. He isn’t the type to bulldoze to the rim in hopes of getting himself a poster or aggressively drawing fouls. However, last night was different as the Slovenian found himself an opening and jammed it all over the front line of the Blazers.
Funnily enough, Doncic himself looked surprised by what he had just done as he put his heads over his head following the dunk in disbelief. In his postgame presser, he would go on to jokingly say that he has the most bounce out of anybody on the Mavericks team.

Christian Wood got word of this and would respond during his media availability by saying there was no chance in hell that this was true.

Luka Doncic has the most unassisted field goal percentage
Luka Doncic generates offense for both his teammates and himself to such an extent that he’s claimed the throne for being the player with the highest percentage of unassisted field goals made in the NBA.
90.1% of every single one of the buckets he’s dropped as the league’s leading scorer have been generated by him and him alone. This means less than 10% of his made shots over 29 games have come from players passing to him.
This isn’t to say that Mavs players have a stopped passing to him, rather goes to show just how limited they are when it comes to facilitation. With Jalen Brunson in New York, Luka has had to take on the extra burden of being a scoring wing and the point guard.
