"Would've Been Successful Anywhere I Went!": Draymond Green Makes Bold Claim Days After Shutting Down Lakers Rumors

The Golden State Warriors, after a horrific 3-7 start to the season, seem to be finding their footing now. The 2022 NBA Champions are finally starting to put up their title defense, and that has helped them jump to the 6th spot in the West. Draymond Green and his inclusion in the second unit is a big reason behind the same.

The Warriors’ starters, led by Stephen Curry, were absolutely dominating, but at the same time, their bench was the worst in the league. Steve Kerr made some adjustments and realized letting Draymond take some facilitating pressure off the 2nd unit is helping them tremendously.

Along with helping the 2nd unit, Dray has also managed to find his shooting stroke again. He’s shooting 58.5% from the field, and 37.5% from the deep over the last few games. On the latest episode of Throwing Bones, Draymond made some huge claims.

Draymond Green believes he would’ve succeeded on any team in the NBA

Ever since his draft, Draymond Green has been the kind of player who says what’s on his mind, and doesn’t hold back. He’s managed to do the same on this latest episode of Throwing Bones. He picked LeBron James as his GOAT over Michael Jordan and tried to justify the same.

Then, he tried to make his case as to why he would’ve found success on any NBA team.

“I would have been successful anywhere I went. Because I’m going to – like you said, I just figure shit out. If I’m needed in this role, I’m going to figure it out.”

Talking about how being the player he is has helped him succeed, Green said,

“Once you find your way on the court in the NBA, you can never not be that. Steph Curry can never not shoot threes. So the moment you think I’ve gotten this good at this thing, I no longer have to do the things that made me Draymond, then that’s it. No one wants you anymore.”

These are bold claims from DG, but when he puts it like that, they do make sense.

Draymond shut down Laker rumors

Since LeBron James and the Lakers failed to repeat their bubble success, there have been rumors about them eyeing Draymond Green. These rumors gained maximum momentum after his altercation with Jordan Poole.

Talking to Andscape, Green addressed these rumors.

“I never said that. People can say what they want. I’m also not really one to react much to what one may say. I react to things when I want to react to it. I don’t react to things just because somebody said it.”

For now, the Warriors don’t have to worry about Green this season. All they need to focus on is finding ways to win, and to try and replicate their success.
