Years After His $2,000,000 Nike Deal, Charles Barkley Blatantly 'Destroyed' Kids' Hopes Of Wanting To Be Like Him

You can’t judge Charles Barkly as a player by looking at him now. He was fierce, he was ruthless, and he wanted to destroy his opponents. Following Michael Jordan, Barkley was one of the many superstars who signed with sports giant Nike. Charles and Jordan were best friends until a few years ago. Moreover, they had the habit of playing golf together, but Sir Charles was horrible at it. However, something good definitely came out of those golfing times. Chuck says that it was Jordan the businessman, who convinced him to not only take the $2,000,000 deal from Nike but also make sure it came with stock options. If you think Mound of Rebound changed his personality to change his brand value in the market, then you are absolutely wrong. He was still ruthless and spoke the truth with a straight face, even if those were kids.

Several years later, Chuckster admitted that due to his decision to follow MJ’s suggestions, he was able to make 10 times the amount of his split. “I actually made probably 10 times the amount of money because of this split. If I remember correctly, I got those options at $35, and they split at over $100 ten times since 1984-85.” Chuck was getting $3 million from Nike. He took $1 million for himself and asked the brand to put $2 million in stock.

Charles Barkley’s Nike commercial was funny and truthful

Barkley sets no boundaries when it comes to having fun and making people laugh. He has openly said that there are no good-looking women in San Antonio. He did his Nike commercial in his own way. truth, yet so honest that anybody would want to buy the shoes. He said that his shoes won’t make any kid an athlete like him, but they have the opportunity to possess the same shoes as him. This is what he said, as seen in the video by Landauer TV.

This is my new shoe. It’s a good shoe. It won’t make you dunk like me. It won’t make you rich like me. It won’t make you rebound like me. It definitely won’t make you handsome like me. It’ll only make you have shoes like me. Period.”

Perhaps, this was one place where the former Phoenix Suns star wanted to be his vintage self, and he went completely against Jordan’s “Be Like Mike” commercial.

Charles Barkley said parents should be role models, not athletes

In modern society, where masquerade among people has become so usual. Charles is one of those people, you want to keep around at any cost. He won’t lie, that is one of his superpowers as a four-time NBA champion. “I am not a role model, I am not paid to be a role model. I was paid to wreak havoc on the basketball court. Parents should be role models. Just because I dunk a basketball, doesn’t mean I should raise your kid.”

Every basketball fan knows that the Chuckster didn’t have much to offer due to his image on the basketball court. However, his life changed as he moved ahead.
