“You wouldn’t have asked me about Christian Wood if he hadn’t dropped me”: Draymond Green hilariously calls out reporter on his matchup against Rockets star

Draymond Green pokes fun at himself for having his ankles broken by Christian Wood in his postgame presser following Warriors win.

The Golden State Warriors faced off against the Houston Rockets last night in a lackluster reignition of a rivalry that dates back to the mid to late 2010s. With both teams having undergone some major roster reconstruction since their duels in the 4 out of 5 postseasons, the game definitely didn’t have that type of an ‘oomph to it.

A silver lining, however, would be that Christian Wood finally made to the Houston Rockets lineup after missing 17 straight games. It was easy to keep track of this stat as it was also the amount of losses the Rockets racked up in a row in Wood’s absence.

Having the All-Star caliber big-man proved to have little to no effect on the team’s ability to win last night as they lost their 18th straight game, tying the franchise record.

One positive that Rockets fans can take away from this game would be how Christian Wood didn’t skipped a beat. This was most prominent when Wood broke Draymond Green’s ankles in the game.

Draymond Green gives his hilarious take on Christian Wood breaking his ankles.

Lauded for being an excellent on-ball defender, Draymond Green was, unfortunately, a victim to an in-an-out crossover by Christian Wood. The viciousness of the move caused Green to touch Earth for a few seconds, before popping back up to his feet to try to contest the shot.

In his postgame presser, Green was asked about his matchup with Christian Wood, to which Draymond Green playfully replied, “You wouldn’t have asked me about him if he hadn’t dropped.” This caused the reporter to try to defend himself for asking this question but Green revealed he was joking around.

Draymond even poked fun at himself on Instagram, putting up on his Instagram story that Donkey Kong had thrown a banana peel onto the court which resulted in him slipping.
