In a couple of months time, Indian football will witness a landmark moment as the FIFA Under-17 World Cup will kick off in India. October 6th 2017 will forever will be etched in the memory of football fans all over the country, as India will for the first time, enter the stratosphere of the footballing universe.
In what will be one of the biggest sporting events to have ever taken place in the country, the FIFA World Cup will be spread over various cities all over the country. The excitement levels are already palpable, as preparations are in full swing ahead of the mega event.
As a part of the promotional activities lined up for the World Cup, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports has decided to create a huge campaign in order to spread awareness among the masses.
In addition to spreading the word among various government and corporate bodies, the Ministry also wishes to encourage football across all age groups from the grass root level onwards.

The Delhi Friendship Football Cup will be a grand event, which will take place on the 15th of September, at the CCSCSB Sports Ground in Vinay Marg, New Delhi.
SHM sports initiated the DFF Cup to engage corporate, govt departments, expat community in India, residential welfare association and others to further promote football across all sectors and communities
Rules of the Tournament
Format
7-a side teams will compete in a league cum knockout format
Match Duration
League stage– 20 Minutes game(10 minutes half) with 5 minutes break in between the two halves
Knockout stage(except the final)- 25 minutes game(12.5 minutes half) with 5 minutes break in between the two halves
Final– 30 minutes game(15 minutes half)
Team Squad
Squad of 10, with 7 players featuring at once(out of which 1 has to be a goalkeeper). Rolling substitutions will be in place
Prizes
Winner– Rs 30000 and the opportunity to play two friendly matches in Europe
Runners Up– Rs 15000
Best Player– Rs 5000
The entire event will be played under a festive environment, with the ultimate aim of festering the football spirit ahead of the mega event come October.
