Neymar on Barcelona return

Neymar on Barcelona return: The PSG forward is in Barcelona for treatment after sustaining a metatarsal injury.

The Brazilian forward had been in fine form for Paris Saint Germain before a severe metatarsal injury ruled him out for 10 weeks.

PSG released a statement on Neymar’s injury earlier this week which confirmed the forward’s exclusion from the side’s round of 16 tie against Manchester United.

Neymar has travelled to Barcelona where he will undergo conservative treatment for his injury. However, he was surrounded by journalists on his arrival at Barcelona, facing a barrage of questions on his rumoured return to the club.

The forward, who was on the crutches, was in no mood to entertain the question.

The PSG forward ignored a series of questions on his report comeback to the Catalan giants but couldn’t contain himself when one of the journalists asked, “Is it true that you’re calling Barcelona to go back there?”

Neymar turned and replied, “No me toques los cojones!” which, in simple English, could be translated to “Don’t p*** me off.”

There’s a reason for Neymar’s anger, though.

Earlier in January, a Spanish media outlet, El Mundo, released a story on Neymar ‘urging Barcelona’ to sign him back. It was also reported that the forward has called the Barca board on five occasions in a desperate attempt to rejoin the club.

However, Neymar’s father was furious with the report and termed it ‘fake news’ on his Instagram profile. The Brazilian forward followed suit after PSG’s game against Amiens, where he was rested.

“I’m looking at fake calls and fake news, when I’m angry with lies, when false friends come to talk to me and I put on the face that I do not know anything,” Neymar said at that time.

Barcelona’s sporting director Pep Segura have also earlier addressed the rumours linking Neymar to a return. While he denied the reports, he stated that the player was not in the market.

“All players who are in the market are likely to come if they fit our needs. Today, Neymar is not in the market.

“If one day there is a possibility, does anyone believe that a club like Barca does not have to consider it?” Segura stated.
