Neymar Transfer News: Messi urges Barcelona to sign inexpensive alternative for Neymar following the exorbitant price tag set by Paris Saint-Germain.
With the coming out of Barcelona’s financial duress it has become very evident that the club are in no position to bring in Neymar. It seems that club talisman Lionel Messi understands the complexities involving their former star and has now urged them to look for cheaper alternatives.

The Argentine has suggested that the club go after Bayern Munich’s David Alaba. Diario GOL have reported that while Messi wants Neymar to return, the ongoing difficulties in the club and PSG’s stubbornness over the Brazilian’s price tag has forced him to seek defensive reinforcements instead.
Alaba to deputize Alba
Jordi Alba is currently the only left back in the side. Bringing in Alaba as his understudy could help provide the club with some depth. Apart from the left, Alaba can also play in the centre.
Alaba has already told the club executives at Bayern Munich that he wishes to leave and has no intention of renewing. The Austrian has been at the Allianz Arena since 2009. He still has one year left on his contract. However, the arrival of Lucas Hernandez means that Alaba is not a certainty in the playing eleven anymore.
This has prompted him to look for other ventures and Barcelona are paying keen attention to the situation at Bavaria. Not only would he prove to be Jordi Alba’s back up but he could also be Busquets deputy as well with his flexibility. Apart from that Alaba has the ability to come forward and push for goals with some key shoots.
Barcelona have made Bayern Munich’s David Alaba their No. 1 target as they look to bring in competition for Jordi Alba this summer, but they are also looking at other options such as Junior Firpo. (@ESPNFC)#FCBayern #Barca pic.twitter.com/owTCX4E58k

Real Betis’ Junior Firpo was their original choice. However, his asking price has turned off the Catalans. 50 million Euros for an inexperienced left back who will essentially warm the bench is too much for the Catalans.
