The NFL community knows very well about Aaron Rodgers and the expensive items he gifts his O-Line members. At least, while he was at Green Bay. Rogers giving his teammates personalized ATVs made headlines for months. However, Rodgers is not the only QB who cares about his O-Linemen. Though, unlike Rodgers, Lamar Jackson chose to go for a more classy approach for a gift.
Lamar Jackson has always been known as someone who wants t save as much as he can. That is one of the reasons why he never bothered to hire an agent, instead relying on his friends and family to help him through negotiations. However, one look at the price tag of the gifts he gave his O-Line back in 2019, will remove any rumors of him being a miser.
Lamar Jackson gave his O-Line Rolex watches as a sign of his gratitude
2019 was the year Lamar Jackson became the second youngest QB to be named MVP. As expected, he placed some of that credit on his O-Line, his sworn defenders who did their best to protect him on the gridiron. As a token of his gratitude, Jackson ended up buying them all a Rolex watch. Talk about perfect timing.
The gifting spree was brought to light through one of his teammates’ social media. Ronnie Stanley, the Ravens offensive tackle, took to Instagram to share his signal caller’s gift. Reportedly, the watches were worth around $4,000 each. That is probably the right amount of gratitude for helping Jackson get the quarterback record for rushing yards with 1,206 to his name.
Jackson could go on an even more expensive splurge if this season goes well
Jackson recently signed a new contract with the Ravens, that gives him a total of $260 million. What’s more, the Ravens seem to be in a great position to challenge the top teams this season. Especially with the arrival of new wide receivers, including veteran Odell Beckham Jr. Safe to say that Jackson will have a lot more options to throw at in the coming games.
However, things may not be easy for them. The Ravens still have to contend with the likes of the Buffalo Bills, the Kansas City Chiefs, and their very own divisional rivals, the Cincinnati Bengals. None of these teams are easy to beat. This means Jackson and the Ravens will have to give more than their 100% to even think about a potential Super Bowl win. How will the Ravens fare this season?
