Patrick Mahomes is currently one of the most successful quarterbacks in the NFL. Quite astonishingly, he has won two Super Bowl rings in just 6 seasons since he made his debut on the big stage. Even more surprisingly, the quarterback, who Mahomes idealized growing up is still in the NFL and is set to play for the Jets in 2023. Yes, we are talking about Aaron Rodgers.

However, despite his admiration for the former Green Bay superstar, Mahomes recently made an intriguing revelation about the most famous person on his contact list, who apparently, isn’t A-Rod.
Patrick Mahomes names Peyton Manning as the most famous person in his phone
In the video interview uploaded by Omar Raja of ESPN, Patrick Mahomes answered a variety of questions. First and foremost, in rapid fire style, Patrick was asked to name the most famous person in his phone contacts. To everyone’s surprise, instead of taking his childhood idol Aaron Rodgers’ name, the Kansas City QB answered, “Peyton Manning.”

Post that, Mahomes went on to mention that before a game, his favorite song used to be “Dreams and Nightmares,” a track that fueled his energy and motivation. However, due to certain circumstances, he got rid of this particular pre-game anthem. Mahomes also reflected on his favorite NFL memory – the Super Bowl victories.
Furthermore, the interview provided some context to Mahomes’ lighter side. He shared his perspective on playing in adverse weather conditions. The QB stated that he had a clear preference for snow games. This certainly speaks a lot about his enthusiasm to face unique challenges head-on.
Patrick Mahomes vs Aaron Rodgers: Who stands where
There have been quite a few discussions around who is the “best quarterback” in the NFL at the moment. As one can expect, in such discussions, Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes often find the top spot. While Mahomes has already secured two Super Bowl titles at a young age, Rodgers boasts an impressive career that spans across 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers.
Coming to individual accolades, both Rodgers and Mahomes have had their fair share of success. Mahomes, at the tender age of 24, won his first coveted NFL MVP award, before winning it once again for his heroics last season. Meanwhile, Rodgers has won the same award record 4 times.

Coming to postseason success, Mahomes has already made a statement by making three Super Bowl appearances. However, Rodgers has been able to win just one Super Bowl till now. Patrick Mahomes can be considered a torchbearer to a new generation of QBs. In just six seasons, he has shattered records and set new benchmarks, showcasing his unrivaled talent and ability to consistently perform at an elite level.
Given his extraordinary skill set and the potential for more Super Bowl appearances and playoff wins, Mahomes can be said to be poised to surpass the accomplishments of his contemporaries. But at the same time, don’t count A-Rod out of the competition. He might be in the final stages of his career, but that doesn’t mean he can’t have a MVP-worthy season.
